MNTN CEO Talks Disney-Fubo Deal and Streaming’s Sports-Driven Future

Min Read

Earlier this week, MNTN CEO Mark Douglas joined CNBC to discuss the newly announced deal between Disney and Fubo, and its potential implications for the streaming landscape at large.

“I think that everything about streaming just seems to keep going towards sports,” Douglas remarked when asked about the partnership. He elaborated on the strategic benefits for both parties, noting, “Disney wanted an independent sports network, and now they have one — without having to build it themselves.”

For Fubo, Douglas believes this deal could be a game-changer. “Fubo, on the other hand, gets to leverage the Hulu brand, which I think they need because it will make the content they have more attractive to advertisers,” he said. He pointed out that this collaboration has already begun to boost ad revenue for Fubo, as advertisers are increasing their investments.
