MNTN CEO Mark Douglas Joins Bloomberg Markets To Discuss the SMB Opportunity

1 Min Read

MNTN CEO Mark Douglas — recently named Adweek’s Tech Innovator of the year — joined Bloomberg Markets to discuss the Klaviyo IPO, and what it means for the industry at large.

Douglas was first asked about Klaviyo’s position in ad tech, and explained that they are focused on a specific market. “They have particularly focused on SMBs — small and medium businesses — and helping those companies to essentially find the right consumers,” he said about the email marketing company. “I think SMB is a great market. I think Wall Street generally underestimates companies that focus on SMB, and that’s what we’ve seen from Klaviyo.”

The conversation then turned to whether an ad tech option like Klaviyo is more suited for a small to medium business looking to get in front of their ideal audience than a company like Google or Meta might be. Douglas explained that MNTN is closer to the kind of “renegade” business that was just described.

“So email marketing is an already established technique — again Kaviyo made that accessible,” Douglas explained. “What MNTN does, is we bring essentially small companies that never had access to television, we bring them to television for the first time so that they can advertise on TV in that performance-minded way.”
