Gozney manufactures premium outdoor pizza ovens that bring professional-grade performance to home cooks. With high average order value (AOV) premium products that typically have a long path to conversion, Gozney sought to reach untapped audiences by expanding their advertising efforts beyond paid social and search. They needed a sophisticated advertising solution that would allow them to capitalize on peak seasonal opportunities and efficiently engage high-intent customers year-round.

Connected TV (CTV) emerged as the perfect addition to Gozney’s marketing mix, offering access to valuable audiences not found on other digital platforms. While Gozney had achieved impressive year over year (YoY) revenue growth, they remained focused on expanding brand awareness and acquiring new customers. As innovators both in their industry and on the advertising front, they wanted to engage potential customers on previously untapped channels. And their lean marketing team needed an advertising solution that combined advanced capabilities with user-friendly features and would help them scale efficiently.

Initially attracted to Connected TV for its ability to reach audiences beyond paid search and social media, Gozney quickly recognized the performance potential of the channel, and they shifted their CTV approach into a full-funnel strategy. Prospecting, Retargeting, MNTN Matched

To meet their unique business needs, Gozney launched evergreen prospecting campaigns that ran year-round, then activated retargeting during their busier periods. They focused their prospecting efforts on specialized audience segments, like home and garden shoppers, aspiring chefs, and consumers interested in smart appliances who shopped at premium home retailers. For retargeting, they used CRM data to exclude past purchasers, instead honing in on people who had visited two or more pages on their site but hadn’t converted.

They aligned audience sizes with their seasonal budgets to maximize value — particularly during slower business periods. This allowed them to be pointed with their spending, shifting their targeting based on demand.

Looking to further maximize their effectiveness on CTV, Gozney launched with MNTN Matched™. The MNTN Matched technology suggested a range of high-potential keywords, including outdoor cooking equipment, wine and cheese, and culinary tours. It then analyzed these keywords against real-time consumer behavior data, creating audiences most likely to take action after viewing Gozney’s ads.

Speaking of ads — Gozney’s were a key piece to their CTV strategy. As a premium outdoor cooking brand, they knew it was vital to showcase the craftsmanship and distinctive features that separate their products from competitors’. Gozney’s video ads accomplished this beautifully, highlighting the professional-grade performance and design elements that make their offerings unique. Some of their commercials included their founder or food influencers speaking about the products, while others relied on on-screen copy to convey the power of their ovens. All ad creative included upbeat music, clear CTAs, and messaging about relevant discounts or sales that helped to drive engagement — the latter of which was vital in producing impressive performance during the peak summer season.


The Results

Exceptional Performance Throughout Summer and Beyond

Gozney used MNTN’s comprehensive reporting capabilities and seamless integration with Rockerbox to track campaign performance in real-time. This visibility into measurement enabled them to make data-driven decisions throughout their campaigns, ensuring maximum effectiveness during critical selling periods.

Gozney’s investment in MNTN  paid off, delivering powerful results for their summer sales push. They outperformed their cost per acquisition (CPA) cost per visit (CPV) goals by 71% and 49%, respectively.

The performance didn’t stop there — Gozney took what they learned from their summer campaigns and used it to drive exceptional results throughout the year, culminating in a strong Q4 performance. During their holiday sale, their visit rate grew by an impressive 174% while average order value increased by 18%, allowing them to close the year with remarkable momentum. On top of this, MNTN outperformed their other channels, producing a return on ad spend (ROAS) that was 48% higher than that of their overall mixed media channels.

And while results are great, MNTN provided Gozney with more than just impressive performance.
